While Red Bull Racing hopes to draw level with Ferrari with the planned updates in Imola, the latter has no intention of deploying major updates. Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto does not think the home race in Italy is the right time to experiment, given the sprint race scheduled that weekend.

This is not to say that Ferrari will not bring any updates at all, but according to Binotto, it will be "nothing significant. The F1-75 is already extremely competitive, so the need is not there at the moment. For that reason, the team boss says he does not want to experiment on the weekend of his home race, especially considering the sprint race that is scheduled.

The update Ferrari is now focusing on is a solution to the porpoising, which Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz again suffered more from in Melbourne. "Because of the sprint race, Imola is not the right moment, nor the suitable circuit to experiment," explains Binotto to Corriere della Sera.

The Ferrari boss reiterates once again that he never expected Ferrari to be in such good shape after three races. He acknowledges that Leclerc won convincingly in Australia, but that doesn't mean the team will be so supreme every weekend. "In difficult track conditions, we managed to tune the car better than the others," he explains.

At the same time, Ferrari continues to keep a close eye on the competition. "I expect a strong Red Bull in the next races. They are pushing and developing and it will be a tough battle," Binotto said.
