Should Verstappen watch out for Leclerc? 'Great desire to win'
- GPblog.com
Ferrari had to acknowledge its superiority to Red Bull Racing during the Imola Grand Prix. With Max Verstappen, the Austrian racing stable performed better throughout the weekend, narrowing the gap in the world championship. René Arnoux, however, keeps faith with the Italians.
From the beginning of the season Ferrari showed itself to be very strong. The Italian formation managed to appear on the podium every time during the first three GPs. Last weekend, for the first time this season, this was not the case.
For a long time it seemed that Leclerc would finish on the third position, which would put him next to Sergio Perez and Verstappen on the podium. Nothing turned out to be less true, however, because at the end of the race the Monegasque spun hard. In doing so, he lost a number of positions.
Ferrari gets support from Arnoux
According to Arnoux, the key moment in the race is not directly blamed on the driver. The former Ferrari driver argues that Leclerc has it in his character to go for his chances and that by doing so he always runs the risk of going wrong. "However, we are going to see a more powerful Leclerc in Miami with a great desire to win. He will have the right setup immediately," Arnoux stated convincingly in conversation with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
