Charles Leclerc was well on his way to securing the third podium spot in Imola, until he suddenly spun and lost a number of places. According to Ralf Schumacher, it was an incomprehensible action by the driver who unnecessarily threw away many points as a result.

With Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez in the front positions, Red Bull Racing had it excellent towards the end of the race. Leclerc tried to put a stop to that and tried to get close to the Mexican. However, the risk he took caused him to lose control of the wheel.

"He wanted too much. Much too much in a situation where it is not necessary at all," judged Schumacher in conversation with Sky Sports Deutschland. "Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are both experienced and well-paid drivers who have not managed to stay faultless for a race weekend. That's frustrating for the team."

Victory gives Red Bull confidence

The Italian race gives Red Bull confidence for the coming months, as is also evident from the words of Helmut Marko. The advisor to the Austrians noted that Ferrari may not be able to handle the current pressure. In a week and a half, the Miami Grand Prix is scheduled to take place.
