Vettel's contract at Aston Martin expires in 2022. It is not yet clear whether the German will renew his contract, and it remains to be seen whether he can find a place at another team. However, Vettel is in no hurry to make a decision about his career.
Vettel on retirement
Besides motorsport, Vettel also has a passion for the environment. The Aston Martin driver is committed to greater sustainability and the fight against pollution and climate change. In conversation with the German BILD it is suggested that sooner or later the Formula 1 career of the four-time world champion will come to an end.
"I don't put pressure on myself to find the perfect follow-up career tomorrow. Two years ago I said: I will drive for two more years. Now I don't think about life after F1 every day", Vettel said. The 34-year-old driver indicates that no decision has yet been made on his contract.
"It depends on how strong the car is, how the team develops and how the races go. But I don't have to lie: my future is a topic that will be discussed. I have many ideas, talk to many people and am quickly inspired."
Glimmer of hope for Aston Martin
At the Imola Grand Prix, the Aston Martin team gained its first points of the season. After a number of bad races, the team needed the positive result. Vettel achieved the highest result of their season with an eighth place.
