Formula E driver warns of dangerous situation in Formula 1
- GPblog.com
Formula E driver Jake Dennis fears that the festivities at the pit wall at the end of Formula 1 races could lead to an accident. The driver believes that the situation is becoming increasingly dangerous.
It has become a habit among F1 teams to lean over the pit wall fences to cheer on their driver at the end of a race. Often the driver will swerve toward the pit wall to get closer to his team.
Fortunately, there has never been an incident at the pit wall, but Dennis is still worried. On his Instagram after the Imola Grand Prix, he posted a photo of the McLaren team at the pit wall after Lando Norris' third place finish. The situation could potentially be very dangerous if someone lost their balance and ended up on the track.
Situation could be dangerous
"Things you love to see but this is so sketchy. One slip from a mechanic and it’s not a pretty sight. I have a feeling it will only change if something bad were to happen", he writes with the photo.
