Verstappen shows development: 'Decisions more calculated'

Max Verstappen has made great progress in Formula 1 in recent years, according to Lawrence Barretto. The journalist from Formula1.com notices that the Dutchman is thinking more about his actions on the track, while maintaining his attacking driving style.
In 2015, Verstappen made his debut for Toro Rosso. There he did so well that just one year later it was time for him to move to Red Bull Racing. Verstappen managed to take an immediate victory in his first race for the Austrian racing stable and thus raised expectations.

In the years that followed, the driver found himself in tricky situations on several occasions, but learned from them. Last season that experience came in handy when he faced seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton and suddenly found himself with his car capable of taking the world title.
"He’s still the risk-taking, attacking, hardcore fighter on track – but we’ve seen this that he’s harnessed that slightly with decision making that is more calculated," Barretto assesses Verstappen. At the same time, he stresses that the driver has not surrendered any of his qualities. "It’s a tweak rather than an overhaul."
