Wolff still sees possibilities: 'There have only been four races'

Mercedes has had a disappointing start to the season. The German racing stable is still having problems with porpoising and, partly as a result, is behind Ferrari and Red Bull Racing for the time being. However, Toto Wolff retains confidence for the coming months, he tells Speedweek.com.
The German racing team knew prior to the season that it would be difficult to maintain the high level of recent years. As a result, Ferrari continued to develop the car, increasing the competition with the excellent performing Red Bull.
In the first four races Lewis Hamilton and George Russell performed unevenly. Both drivers clearly lacked speed on Ferrari and Red Bull. For Hamilton, it even meant a thirteenth final position in Imola.
Wolff remains confident in Mercedes chances
Despite the difficult start to the season, however, Wolff knows that there are still opportunities to finish the season well. "Purely arithmetically it will be quite difficult," states the team boss. "But there have only been four races and we don't have a big gap. If we can get the potential of the car out and understand it aerodynamically, we are fully in the race."
