Pierre Gasly hopes to get back in rhythm in Miami after a bad weekend in Imola. The Miami Grand Prix will be a fun weekend for the Frenchman, as there is good overtaking in his view. Qualifying is therefore also slightly less important.

Gasly finished on P12 in Imola. AlphaTauri had a particularly bad start to the weekend with a very poor qualifying session. The Frenchman did not manage to overtake Alexander Albon of Williams during the race. He did, however, keep seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton behind him for half the race. His teammate Yuki Tsunoda beat him by a wide margin with a P7, so the AlphaTauri driver wants to forget the weekend and now focus fully on Miami.

In Monaco and Spain, Saturday is more important

In a press statement from the team, the driver says: "Although it is important to qualify well this weekend in Miami, there are some good overtaking opportunities. There are races coming up that are similar to Imola, like Spain and Monaco, where qualifying is much more important and a good Saturday is key." Despite the narrow sections on the American tarmac, Gasly believes there are plenty of places to do overtaking. The three DRS zones will also help with that.

Gasly concludes his preview of the weekend, "I hope above all that we can continue to score points again in every race. I want to get back into the good rhythm we were in the first three races and forget about the weekend in Imola."
