Lawrence Stroll has spoken to Audi about a possible future collaboration in Formula 1, he admits in conversation with Autosprint. According to the team owner, however, this does not necessarily mean that a deal is imminent.
With the new engine regulations coming into effect in 2026, there will be a budget cap on power unit spending. It ensures that several engine suppliers have expressed their interest in entering Formula 1. Audi even already indicated its definitive exit.
The brand is currently looking for a team with which it can enter into a partnership. Audi reportedly sees in Aston Martin a reliable Formula 1 team with which it can make great strides. Therefore, both parties decided to sit down with each other. Stroll found the talks interesting, but at the same time emphasizes that he is still happy with Mercedes.
Possible farewell to Vettel
Behind the scenes, Stroll is said to be thinking about bringing Fernando Alonso to the team. He is reportedly not satisfied with the performance of Sebastian Vettel, which makes the Spaniard seem like a good option for Aston Martin. However, it remains to be seen how realistic the move is.
