Jolyon Palmer sees that Max Verstappen is on an excellent run of the season. The reigning world champion won the last two races and is therefore competing with Charles Leclerc in the world championship. According to Palmer, however, Verstappen is far from there.

Indeed, the Austrian racing team did not experience purely positive things in Miami. Verstappen had problems with his car on Friday during free practice and Sergio Perez had to deal with them in Sunday's race. Palmer expects that this part could be the decision in the fight for the world title.

"For all the Red Bull and Verstappen momentum, there are still concerns on the reliability side as experienced by Verstappen on Friday and Perez on Sunday," he reveals in his column on Formula1.com. "If that were to resurface again then Ferrari’s cautious approach suddenly looks more justified," Palmer said, pointing to Ferrari's few updates.

Ferrari confident about updates

Ferrari clearly struggled to fight with Red Bull in Imola and Miami, but this should change at the Spanish Grand Prix. The Italians plan to bring several updates, which should make Leclerc and Carlos Sainz look better during the upcoming race.
