Williams has bad news for De Vries: 'Never been any question'

Jost Capito, in conversation with AvD Motor & Sport Magazin distanced himself from the rumours that Williams would be looking for a replacement for Nicholas Latifi. According to the team boss, the racing stable retains confidence in the driver, which means that the Canadian will be fine for the time being this season.
Latifi has come up short this season and is in last place in the world championship without any points. It would result in Williams losing patience with the driver and therefore wanted to say goodbye to Latifi already next summer.
Capito gives Latifi the necessary support
Capito, however, does not recognize himself in that story. In conversation with the German medium, he tells that Latifi indeed is not performing as he should, but that he has full confidence that Latifi will show it in the course of the season. According to him, it is therefore important to give the driver time.
"Latifi needs a bit longer to get used to the new cars. We respect that," he stressed in the interview. In doing so, the Williams team boss explains that his team has never thought about letting Latifi leave in the interim. "For us, there has never been any question of a premature driver change," Capito said.
