Gasly enjoyed: 'That's what Formula 1 is all about'

Pierre Gasly started the Monaco Grand Prix from seventeenth place and, partly due to the extreme weather conditions, managed to cross the finish line in eleventh place. The AlphaTauri driver looked back on the race with satisfaction.
Prior to the race, Gasly was already hoping for wet weather conditions and that proved to be true. "When I saw the rain on the grid I had a massive smile on my face," the driver stated in conversation with Sky Sports. "I knew it was our opportunity to try something different and to hopefully move forward."
"It was obviously tricky, sliding all over the place, but it was really fun, you were driving on the limit and that’s what Formula One is all about," said the Frenchman, who regrets finishing outside the points. "I think we deserved to be up there this weekend."
Gasly looks like he can forget about a switch to Red Bull
After the race, Gasly incidentally also heard less news. The driver was hoping to have a chance at a place at Red Bull next season, but Sergio Perez seemed to let a secret slip. Reportedly, the Mexican will stay with his team for the next few years, which means Gasly will probably have to look a door down the road.
