Sergio Perez has extended his contract until 2024 at the Red Bull Racing team. The Mexican has signed a new two-year deal and with that he is extremely happy. The 32-year-old driver is happy that he can finally make the news known to the whole world.
"For me, this has been an incredible week, winning the Monaco Grand Prix is a dream for any driver and then to follow that with announcing I will continue with the Team until 2024 just makes me extremely happy. I am so proud to be a member of this Team and I feel completely at home here now," Perez told Red Bull's official channels.
Good relationship with Verstappen
The current world championship number three enjoys working at a top team like Red Bull and the cooperation with his stablemate is also going well. "We are working very well together and my relationship with Max, on and off the track, is definitely helping drive us forward even more. We have built tremendous momentum as a Team and this season is showing that, I am excited to see where that can take us all in the future.”
For Pierre Gasly, it means that a switch to the great Red Bull is not in the cards for the time being. The AlphaTauri driver had hoped for a second chance, but thanks to Perez's strong season start, the choice ultimately proved to be quite easy.
