Mercedes was painfully shown in the Monaco Grand Prix that it is far from back among the top teams. During the race weekend in Barcelona, the German racing team left a good impression, but for now Ferrari and Red Bull Racing have a better car. Lewis Hamilton realizes that as well.
The Briton hoped to compete for the world title again this season, but nothing is further from the truth for the time being. With an eighth place in Monaco, both Mercedes and Hamilton could not be satisfied, so both parties realize that their performance has to improve soon.
Hamilton hopes to drive at the front again at Silverstone
In conversation with Speekweek.com, Hamilton remains positive about the coming months. The seven-time world champion says he is confident that his team will improve his car quickly and that he can attack the top teams again with it. In doing so, the driver even sets a goal.
"I hope that by the time of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone we will have the car the way we want it to be," states Hamilton. "Hopefully we can fight with Ferrari and Red Bull Racing then. It would be nice if we can give them a run for their money in our home race."
