According to Johnny Herbert, it is only a matter of time before Mercedes starts competing for victories again. According to the Brit, the German racing team has the porpoising problem under control.
For Mercedes, the 2022 Formula One season has not started in a way it envisioned. Where the Germans have dominated the last eight years, they are trailing Ferrari and Red Bull Racing in 2022. Mercedes has 65 points less than Ferrari and 101 points less than Red Bull.

Still, there is an upward trend in the team of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton. The car has not necessarily become faster, but the bouncing is becoming less and less. It seems that Mercedes is controlling this better and better and therefore could now make steps forward with the W13.
''It's definitely a possibility that Mercedes will get back to those winning ways. The porpoising issue is something they've got on top of, although I am not sure they've fixed it, I'm not sure anyone is able to really stop it from happening. Once you get to a point where you can control it, then you can come apply updates because you have a car responding to what they see on the simulator," Herbert told Sky Sports.
