Russell: "We are still third fastest"
George Russell struggled to make strides in Q3 as the rain came down in the final session, and despite promise shown in that Mercedes throughout the weekend, the young Brit would of been hoping for a better qualifying, much more akin to his teammate Lewis Hamilton who finished in P5 at the end of the session.
Russell critical of himself
"Definitely disappointed . As the session progressed everything got slowly worse. I had good confidence in Q1 and was in the top 3 for the majority but didn't have that in Q3 when it mattered." reveals the Mercedes driver when he talked to Sky Sports
Looking on the bright side
Russell continued in the interview "The car had the pace to be P4 or P5. I made a mistake." Although the 24-year-old is optimistic for tomorrow and reveals that "There's promise, pace in the dry and high fuel could be on par with the guys at the front. Starting in P8 isn't going to be an easy task,"
