Albon can leave hospital after multiple medical checks
- GPblog.com
Alexander Albon does not have to spend the night in hospital near the Silverstone circuit. The British driver has undergone some medical checks and it has now been concluded that no serious injuries have been sustained.
"We are pleased to confirm that Alex has been given the all clear and has been discharged from Coventry Hospital. Thank you to everyone for your well wishes," the Williams team reported through its own channels.
Albon said: "I am very happy that everyone involved in the incident in the first race is OK. I would like to thank the medical staff at the circuit and the people at Coventry hospital. It's a shame that the race was over before it even started, but now the focus is on Austria."
Racing is already underway next weekend, so there is not much time for Albon to recover. The Formula One then travels to the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. So it seems the Williams driver could be fit in time, but we will only get confirmation later.
