Charles Leclerc was disappointed after the Grand Prix at Silverstone. The Monegasque was unable to benefit from Max Verstappen's seventh place and even finished outside the top three. Mattia Binotto therefore invested time in him during the last few days, according to Leclerc.

After the race weekend, footage circulated of Binotto talking to Leclerc at the track. The team boss tried to explain to his driver how Ferrari's decisions had taken place and expressed confidence in Leclerc.

The driver then went to Monaco to mentally prepare for the remainder of the season, after which Binotto flew in after him. "He came to Monaco because the last five races have gone badly for me," Leclerc told Nu.nl. "He does come over often, but this time it was because things have not been going well for some time."

Leclerc dissatisfied with results

Leclerc is referring to the performance of the past few months. After victories in Bahrain and Australia, the driver was unable to finish in first place while competitor Red Bull Racing managed to do so for consecutive race weekends.

That Sainz did win in England doesn't matter to Leclerc though. He is only happy for his teammate, Leclerc stressed. "We are extremely united," he revealed. "Everyone was very happy that Carlos won his first race. Really, there is no division."
