Sainz receives first grid penalty of the weekend, possibly more to come
- GPblog.com
Carlos Sainz has a ten-place grid penalty to his name for the French Grand Prix. It is expected that more grid penalties will follow later this weekend.
Ferrari have installed new control electronics (CE) on Sainz's car. More new engine parts may follow as we saw with Charles Leclerc before the Canadian Grand Prix. After his engine failed in Austria, Sainz was expected to start from the back of the grid at Paul Ricard.
Other drivers changing parts are Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. Hamilton opted for a new turbo and MGU-H, but the Briton is not yet penalised as it is his third part. Russell and Hamilton also both get a new CE.
Verstappen also changes a part
Max Verstappen and Lando Norris will get a new exhaust system, but this has no further consequences for the drivers.
Nuova centralina per Sainz, che quindi andrà ufficialmente in penalità. Sulla vettura di Hamilton sono stati sostituiti turbo, MGU-H, pacco batteria e centralina, su quella di Russell solo pacco batterie e centralina.
