Ferrari can't solve some problems 'until 2023'
- GPblog.com
Mattia Binotto acknowledges that Ferrari is facing a host of reliability problems this season. While some of the problems will be solved this calendar year, the team boss cannot rule out that some will remain throughout the year. He says in conversation with Motorsport.com.
Ferrari still has the best car on the track, but when it comes to reliability the Italians certainly have something to complain about. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were sidelined on several occasions with engine problems, causing them to lose a lot of points unnecessarily.
Binotto's aim is therefore to resolve these issues as quickly as possible. However, the team leader stresses that this is not so simple. It simply takes time to resolve the negative issues, which means that Ferrari will only be rid of reliability problems in 2023.
Ferrari wants to keep problems under control
Binotto said the team is doing its best to control the problems so that both drivers have less fear of stalling during the race. However, Ferrari does face a major challenge heading into the second half of the season.
