Mercedes has gone all out for the Belgian Grand Prix. During the race weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, the German racing team will drive with a special livery to celebrate AMG's 55th anniversary.

For the Belgian Grand Prix, Mercedes has coloured the car in a special livery in honour of AMG's 55th anniversary. AMG was founded 55 years ago by engineers Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher. AMG is an important partner of the German F1 team and also a title sponsor.

In honour of the anniversary, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell will be seen this weekend sporting a special AMG logo, an anniversary badge and a large vintage start number on the W13. This is a particular reference to the 300 SEL 6.8 AMG, which won the 1971 Spa 24 Hours.

''AMG is synonymous with racing and high-performance. For 55 years they have been at the forefront of pushing what is possible on four wheels, both on the racetrack and the road. I look forward to getting out on track in the Red Pig this afternoon, an icon in motorsport history," Toto Wolff said in the press release.

As well as the special livery of the W13, Wolff, Russell and Hamilton will also get behind the wheel of a replica of the historic car for a lap of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. The car was called the 'Red Pig' partly due to its livery.
