F1 Constructors' Championship standings | Red Bull beats Ferrari
- GPblog.com
Red Bull Racing did excellent business at the Belgian Grand Prix. Although Max Verstappen had to start the race from 14th position, the Austrian team took both first and second place. With that performance, Red Bull increased its lead in the world championship considerably.
After the race weekend in Hungary, Christian Horner's team was already able to set the difference with rival Ferrari at 97 points. This only increased in Belgium, with Red Bull now holding a 118-point lead.
Compared to Mercedes, Ferrari did well. The Italians started the summer break with a 30 point gap, but that has now increased to 39 points. This is partly due to the fact that Lewis Hamilton dropped out in the first lap. Charles Leclerc, on the other hand, only finished sixth.
There were no changes of position in Belgium, so Alpine is still ahead of McLaren. Alfa Romeo is in sixth place, followed by Haas F1, AlphaTauri and Aston Martin. Williams is still at the bottom of the table with just four points.
