Max Verstappen was voted Driver of the Day at the Belgian Grand Prix by Formula 1 fans worldwide, well ahead of the other drivers. The Red Bull Racing driver was superior and also seems to have the best chance of winning the coveted title of 'GPblog Driver of the Day'.

Verstappen made a huge impression by taking the lead in just eighteen laps, having to start from 14th on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. In the end, he outpaced teammate Sergio Perez by seventeen seconds, although it must be said that the Mexican was saving everything he had at the time. The pressure from behind was not great.

Who else but Verstappen?

What other contenders do we have after the fourteenth race Sunday of 2022? Pierre Gasly was supposed to start from eighth, but in the end it was a start from the pit lane. To finish ninth is more than decent in the competitive midfield. The point that Alexander Albon picked up in the Williams is also worthy of mention and perhaps a vote.

Fernando Alonso drove neatly to fifth place, despite damage after his collision with Fernando Alonso, and Sebastian Vettel is back on P8 in his Aston Martin. We haven't seen much of him, but there is nothing to criticise. Who do you think is the GPblog Driver of the Day? Let us know in the poll and join the discussion.
