Mick Schumacher's future in Formula 1 is still uncertain. The German does not yet have a contract for 2023 and talks with Haas are only now getting underway. Schumacher himself trusts in his talent.

Schumacher has faced a lot of criticism in his first season in F1. This year, too, the Haas driver has not always performed well. In Austria and Great Britain, Schumacher secured the first points of his F1 career, but the German has also caused a number of serious crashes.

In Formula 2 and Formula 3, Schumacher had to get going. Only in his second season did the German manage to win the series in both cases. It was expected that Schumacher also had to get going in F1. In conversation with Mundo Deportivo Schumacher explains if his poor results are also due to the new regulations, and thus very different cars.

"Even if the rules have changed, it doesn't really matter. It's very difficult for people to get under our skin and see what's really going on. I can drive much better than last year, but maybe nobody sees that because you can't compare it because of the different cars. It is difficult to really see how much I have improved or not."

Schumacher has only one goal

Schumacher does not care too much about the criticism he receives. Instead, the young driver uses it to prepare himself for the pressure he will feel if he is ever in contention for the championship. That is certainly what the Haas driver is working towards: "I want to achieve my next goal: to become world champion."
