'De Vries goes for F1 chance in test day at Hungaroring'

Alpine will give Nyck de Vries the chance to show himself at the Hungaroring within the next few weeks, reports De Telegraaf after consulting several sources. Along with Jack Doohan and others, he is fighting there for a possible Formula 1 spot in 2023.
As the last part of the current season has arrived, several teams are busy putting together their drivers for the coming calendar year. With the departure of Fernando Alonso, Alpine has an important task to accomplish in this regard.
The Dutch medium states that Pierre Gasly is still at the top of the French racing stable's wish list. However, it is questionable whether the driver will make the switch, which is why Alpine is in the process of mapping the other possibilities. De Vries is said to be firmly in the picture, although Doohan also has a good chance.
Both men will therefore be seen at the Hungary circuit, according to sources. Alpine does not want to confirm this news for the time being, by the way. As yet, no date has come out, but as previously reported, it will be before the Singapore Grand Prix, which takes place in early October.
Vettel, Schumacher and Herta no contender
The names of Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher are also said to be sounding, but Erik van Haren argues that this is not true. Although Colton Herta will also be seen at the Hungaroring, he is reportedly not going to be part of the formation in 2023.
