Vandoorne finds new Formula E team after leaving Mercedes

Stoffel Vandoorne has managed to secure a place in Formula E for next season. The Belgian driver will start working for DS Penske, putting him in one team with two-time world champion Jean-Eric Vergne.
After his Formula 1 period, Vandoorne joined HWA Racelab in Formula E in 2018, where he finished 16th in his first season. He then made the switch to Mercedes, where he did much better in three years.
Vandoorne achieved three podium finishes in his first year with the German formation, finishing second. A year later, he did not get beyond ninth place and saw teammate Nyck de Vries take the world title. Last season, he managed to accomplish this himself.

However, as Mercedes pulled the plug on the Formula E plan, Vandoorne was diligently looking for a new team. Several teams were reportedly interested in him, with DS Penske coming out on top. This coming year, he will try to defend his world title there.
