Verstappen reacts to new situation race directors: "It's difficult"

Before the United States Grand Prix weekend, the FIA shared a large document with changes that will be implemented after the race in Japan. Carlos Sainz and Max Verstappen react to the news about the race directors in the press conference.
There was a lot of criticism of the FIA after the Japanese Grand Prix. Several things went wrong in the race. For instance, there were delays again due to weather conditions, but there was also a dangerous situation on the track with a tractor.
The FIA investigated the events in the race and drew some conclusions. Several rules and procedures will be revised. One of the biggest changes is that from the US GP onwards, there will be only one race director, Niels Wittich. The German has so far alternated the role with Eduardo Freitas. The consistency of the FIA has been questioned more than once this season because of the two different race directors.
Sainz and Verstappen react
During the press conference after qualifying in Austin, Verstappen and Sainz are asked what they think of the new situation with the race director. "I'm going to keep my thoughts to myself on that one, and I'm going to let the FIA know what is my preference, but I really trust that the FIA are doing everything they can do to keep improving. I’m not going to lie, it's been a tough year for them and we all want progress and we all want to go in the right direction, and we're going to do everything we can to help them", Sainz explains.
Verstappen finds it difficult to give an opinion on the situation. The Dutchman doubts which situation is ideal for the sport. "From my side I guess time will tell what is right. Do you need one? Do you need two? Do you need three? Five? I don't know. It's difficult."
