Debate | Red Bull will take the constructors' title at US GP
- GPblog.com
Red Bull Racing is the centre of attention at the United States Grand Prix. One of the reasons is the possibility of taking the constructors' title for the first time since 2013. Will the team succeed in doing so at the Circuit of the Americas?
Rollercoaster of emotions for Red Bull
Red Bull went through a rollercoaster of emotions in recent weeks: from the joy over Max Verstappen's second world title to the sadness over the loss of Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz. Moreover, the team got a lot thrown at it regarding the budget cap issue, in which the Austrian racing team insists it is innocent.
Ultimate tribute to Mateschitz
In the middle of the GP weekend in Austin, the team was dealt a hard blow by news of the death of Mateschitz. Sunday will therefore be approached with double feelings and a possible constructors' title will not be celebrated lavishly, but it would be the ultimate tribute to the Red Bull boss.
What does Red Bull need to do to win the constructors' title? The least complicated scenario for that: win. A win is enough for the team to secure the championship, even if Ferrari manages to secure the fastest lap. Should Ferrari manage to score a one-two, Red Bull could still clinch the constructors' title by finishing third and fourth.
