Christian Horner predicts the Mexican Grand Prix will be a tough race. Not only the drivers but also the tyres, brakes and engine will get hot during the race. According to the Red Bull Racing team boss, things could still get out of hand.
"I think temperatures today for everybody are going to be critical for everyone, brakes, engine, it’s going to be tough today managing those. There are some very fast Mercedes’ here", Horner begins in conversation with Viaplay.
From pole position, Max Verstappen must try to keep George Russell and Lewis Hamilton behind him. In addition, the Dutchman will also have to pay close attention to his tyres. In the hot temperatures, tyre wear is high. The brakes and engine can also quickly overheat on the high altitude circuit.
Horner: 'It could get out of hand'
"I think it’s going to be tough on the tyres. It depends what tyres, is it a one-stop, is it a two-stop? Brakes are a killer here. Water and engine temperatures at this altitude when you are in that dirty air, it can get out of control. It’s a tough race to manage", Horner ends.
