Verstappen annoyed: 'These kinds of people never come up to you'

Max Verstappen finds it incomprehensible that people can just write anything about him on social media, he says in conversation with Formule1.nl. The two-time world champion therefore has hopes that one day this will change, although he wonders this himself.
Verstappen has noticed the increasing hostility on social media lately. According to the driver, this has to do with the popularity of the sport. As more and more people are interested in Formula 1, more opinions can also be found online.
The Red Bull Racing driver sometimes looks at the comments he reads on channels with incomprehension. "These kinds of people never come up to you to say these things straight to your face. Because they are sitting behind their desks, angry and frustrated, they can write whatever they want because the platforms allow it," says Verstappen.
Perez and Hamilton agree with Verstappen
Sergio Perez and Lewis Hamilton also feel that things often go too far on social media. They think it is the duty of media platforms to look more at the content of posts in the future and remove them if necessary.
