According to tradition, Nyck de Vries was thrown into the Abu Dhabi marina by Mercedes. After this, he was put on a trolley and delivered to his new employer AlphaTauri.

For De Vries, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix meant it was time to say goodbye to the team he has been working for for a long time. Next year, the Frisian driver will join AlphaTauri, where he will drive for the first time on Tuesday to take part in the Young Driver Test.

Mercedes, of course, were not going to let the farewell go unnoticed. As a tradition, he was carried by the team to the marina and then thrown in, before being put on a trolley and delivered to his new team. That's just not a can of Red Bull in his hand....
