Again, during his troubles with the Honda engine, he called the McLaren car a GP2 engine while on the radio to his team. That must have made the Japanese manufacturer really embarrassed! You have to love Alonso's honesty!

At the Brazilian Grand Prix in 2015, Alonso and his then team-mate Jenson Button gatecrashed the podium. The fans loved it as they were well aware both World Champions deserved to be in the top three. In fact, his last podium came in 2014.

The two-time world champion was once laughing on his radio at the chance of an overtake from Romain Grosjean. His team on the radio said: "Ok Fernando, let's keep the pace going strong until the end, Grosjean is still out there on 18 lap old options. He may come towards us." The 27-year-old replied with a laugh.

Dipping a little further back in history and you find the legend driving a Ferrari. At the 2014 Brazilian Grand Prix, he pressed his radio button and said: "Ay ay ay ay why." He's one for moaning on the radio!

Alonso was once spotted sat behind a TV screen and camera when he retired from second practice at the Brazilian Grand Prix in 2016. Another part in his places he would rather be book! Maybe his next chapter in the sport will be a cameraman!!

Earlier this season after the Monaco Grand Prix he took to Twitter slamming the Monaco race. He then live-tweeted action from the Indy500 and now we know his frustrations were just growing a little bit too big!

He won the LeMans 24 race at his first attempt! A super impressive drive, perhaps one of his best. It also marked the 2nd part of his hunt for the triple crown which he'll surely pursuit next season.

During his first stint at McLaren, Alonso decided to block Hamilton in the pits during qualifying in Hungary. The pitstop was slow, but after the lollypop went up, Alonso stayed still while Hamilton had to queue behind eating up precious time.

Who remembers when he claimed the car had a computer virus? He knew the ERS system wasn't charging but the team disagreed. Alonso said: "Maybe you have a virus in your computer."

Going back to 2007 once more, he made a TV advert with Hamilton prior to their relationship upset. It's a little bit awkward but marks down as a classic moment for the lols! In the advert, the two drivers try and better each other showing their competitive nature. Have a search for the video to see a flash back.

In 2012, Alonso was part of the big crash at Spa! The camera view from his cockpit shows how close he was to getting his head knocked which could have resulted in a series injury. The crash occurred at the start of the race and ended the day for some big names.

Throwing it way back to 2006 and we reach Alonso's first Monaco Grand Prix race win. The first part, in many peoples minds, of the motorsport triple crown. The Renault driver at the time led the majority of the race in what was another great drive.

Alonso qualified in 10th following a gearbox problem. He was trying to charge through the field but got stopped by Nick Heidfeld. Following a battle, Alonso made a sublime overtake through the high-speed Imola chicane. One of his best overtakes in F1.

Back at the Nurburgring in 2007, Alonso won a great race in the rain. With just four laps to go, the Spaniard overtook Felipe Massa. The overtake resulted in contact which made the Brazilian angry. Alonso proceeded to make a cheeky gesture in parc ferme!

His two world championship wins. He perhaps should have won more, but the two he got were great triumphs at Renault. At the time, he was very young but deserved all he achieved. During his time in F1, he won 32 races as well as 97 podiums.

There's one major event missing! The old classic! "Fernando is faster than you!". The message to Massa resulted in plenty of drama following the race conclusion. But it was perhaps one of the most memorable moments for the casual fans.
