Hamilton convinced: 'Never been a driver like me'

Lewis Hamilton has had a disappointing season in Formula 1, but is sure he will be back in the fight this year. Indeed, the seven-time world champion knows what he has in him, he told Formule1.nl.
Between 2014 and 2021, Mercedes competed for the world title, but that was different last race year. Partly because of the new regulations, the German team failed to compete for wins for most of the season, having to settle for podiums.
Although Hamilton was very annoyed that another world title was not on the cards, the British driver thinks it was a good learning year for his team. "If I can say anything from last year, it is that as a team we have only become more resilient and more determined," Hamilton commented.
Hamilton exudes confidence
Next season, Red Bull Racing and Ferrari again seem to be the favourites to take the world title, but Hamilton is not giving up hope. The Mercedes driver not only knows what his team is capable of, but also knows his own qualities.
However, the statistics do not bode well for him. Indeed, in the past, no driver has won a Grand Prix after 300 starts (Hamilton stands at 310 starts). "But there has never been a driver like me either," he finishes confidently.
