After Mercedes, Williams has now also given its engine a crank for the first time. James Vowles' team hopes to take a big step forward in 2023.
On Williams' twitter channel, the sound of a roaring Mercedes engine can be heard. Earlier, Mercedes itself showed images of the famous 'fire-up', but now it is also Williams' turn. The team logically does not show anything else of the new car. The new car will only be shown to the world on 6 February.
Changes at Williams
Williams hopes to take a big step forward with the new car in 2023, as in 2022 it finished dead last in the constructors' championship. Alexander Albon will also have to pull the cart in 2023, but with Logan Sargeant he will have a talented driver by his side.
2023 is also the year of change at the top for Williams, with James Vowles replacing the departed Jost Capito as team principal. Who will replace technical director François-Xavier Demaison has not yet been announced. The question is how much effect this will have on the new car.
