AlphaTauri has secured a new 'Principal Partner' with PKN Orlen. The Polish company, which has been associated with Robert Kubica and Sauber in the past, now signs a multi-year deal with AlphaTauri.
PKN Orlen is one of the largest in gas and oil in central Europe. Originally from Poland, the company operates in around 100 countries. Orlen will be clearly visible on the new livery of the AT04, which will be unveiled on 11 February in New York.
New sponsor for AlphaTauri
''I’m pleased to be starting the 2023 season with such positive news for the team. I’m looking forward to seeing their logo featured on our new car at the launch in New York City next month and also how this partnership progresses over the coming years,'' Franz Tost commented in the press release.
Daniel Obajtek, the CEO of PKN Orlen, is also very happy about the partnership. For instance, the brand would mainly focus on sales abroad, making brand awareness very important. ''With Formula 1’s exposure, we reach hundreds of millions of fans worldwide and have built a consistent marketing strategy in Poland and abroad for years. We will continue to leverage the vast potential of the sport with our new cooperation with Scuderia AlphaTauri,'' the CEO is clear in the press release.
It is not the only change for AlphaTauri in 2023. The line-up among drivers will also change. Pierre Gasly has left for Alpine and will be replaced at the Italian team by Nyck de Vries. Yuki Tsunoda will remain with the team, however. The Japanese driver is starting his third season in F1.
