Nyck de Vries seems to be settling into the Formula 1 field just fine. On barely his second day as a regular F1 driver, the Dutchman recorded tight lap times. His best of the 74 laps was a 1:32.222. During the exactly 400 kilometres the Friesian De Vries drove, significant problems remained absent.

After the end of day two of winter testing, the Dutchman announced via a press release that it was a positive day, although there was a red flag (due to George Russell's stalled Mercedes): "The session was suspended, but we still managed to get through our programme. We were able to test quite a few things, so in terms of our day we are happy, and in terms of performance it is hard to say. We have one more day of testing tomorrow, so hopefully we can complete everything and put it all together for the race.”

Jonathan Eddolls, AlphaTauri's Chief Race Engineer called it a productive day. He pointed out that the car was reliable, allowing the Italians to complete 159 laps. "The testing today has highlighted some areas of the car performance that we need to dig into deeper tonight through data analysis, so we can make changes and find even more performance for the final day of testing tomorrow.”

At AlphaTauri, both drivers will again be in action on Saturday. De Vries gets in the car in the morning, Yuki Tsunoda is there in the afternoon.
