Red Bull's Lambiase: 'Focus is on finding even more performance'
- GPblog.com
Red Bull Racing have had three strong days of testing. Max Verstappen was briefly hit by an oil leak on the second day of testing, but that was the only problem the Austrians had to deal with in three days. Sergio Pérez set the fastest time in the RB19, so a feeling of happiness prevailed for chief engineer Gianpiero Lambiase.
"A very successful end to the test with another day of uninterrupted running," states Lambiase, who is happy that a lot of miles were covered. "Checo was able to complete a variety of test items, including a chance to get a feel for the car under conditions closer to Qualifying and the Race, which was important for his preparation.
Red Bull Racing managed to complete 413 laps, a distance equivalent to more than eight Grands Prix in Bahrain. So a lot of data has been collected and over the next seven days, the Austrians will work with all their might to analyse it.
Lambiase: "The start of the season is now upon us, and we have just a handful of days to analyse all of the data collected. It has been a positive three days for the team, but there are always areas for improvement, and the focus will be on trying to extract more performance gains before next week."
