Drivers don't like new idea of FIA: 'Just for show'

Formula 1 will experiment with a new format for qualifying twice this season. Drivers will then appear on hard tyres in Q1, mediums tyres in Q2 and on the softest rubber in Q3.
This new format would allow teams to wear out fewer tyres over the race weekend, which is in line with the FIA 's desire to become Co2-neutral. Pirelli also sees merit in having to provide fewer tyres to the teams. But how do the drivers view the new format?
Verstappen does not need new qualifying format
Max Verstappen does not like the new format. "It’s the same for everyone but I don't think we need to actually do these kinds of things in qualifying. I don't really see the benefit of it. It's better if we make sure that all the cars are close to each other and more competitive instead of spicing things up in that way, which I think is probably for show", the Dutchman told to Reuters. Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc also expressed no desire for the FIA's new concoction.
