While F1 fans are running away in Germany, the UK is apparently still doing well with the sport. Britain's distinctive F1 circuit Silverstone is expanding spectator capacity after high demand for more tickets.
Silverstone increases capacity grandstands for British Grand Prix
Liberty Media is trying hard to bring Formula 1 to places where the sport is not yet as big. For instance, the company is looking hardest for an outlet in the United States, but is also increasing its presence in the Middle East. There are some rumours about the return of the African Grand Prix. About expansion in Asia remains quiet, although with the absence of the China GP in recent years, there is no major F1 presence there either.
For now, the centre of gravity is in Europe, and where it seems to be emptying out for Formula 1 in Germany, the circuit in England is only getting busier. Silverstone is increasing the spectator capacity of the grandstands during the Grand Prix weekend. That the circuit's organisers say on Twitter. The message states that tickets for the British F1 Grand Prix are in high demand.
