Perez realistic: 'Means nothing if we don't maintain this level'

Sergio Perez has looked ahead to the Australian Grand Prix in a press release. The Mexican is still holding out for the rest of the season, despite Red Bull's ridiculously dominant start so far.
Perez is experiencing the best season start of his career. With two one-twos in a row and his first win of the season already in his pocket, Perez has managed to make almost the most of the first two races with Red Bull Racing and teammate Max Verstappen. Perez won the second race of the season from pole position.
Saudi Arabia was a boost for Perez
"I was massively proud of the team and our performance in Jeddah ," Perez began his analysis. "I had a complete weekend and that was one of my aims this season, to be consistent across all three days. But we are only two races into the season and have to keep pushing to make sure we continue this great start to the season. Bahrain and Saudi are very different tracks to each other and Australia will be another challenge for us and this car. We have great pace and are working so hard together to make sure our reliability is there too. It’s been a fun start to 2023 but that won’t matter if we don’t maintain our high level."
At the moment, Perez and Verstappen are the only ones who can make things difficult for each other. Ferrari and Mercedes have fallen so far down the rankings that they are no longer a threat to Red Bull. Fernando Alonso has shared the podium with the Red Bull drivers both times, but he too has yet to really challenge Verstappen and Perez on track.
