The Australian Grand Prix was a true survival race, ensuring that many drivers took points for the first time. Max Verstappen, meanwhile, is leading the championship.

Verstappen walks away

Verstappen had to fight hard for it in Melbourne, but in the end, he retained 25 points from the Australian GP. This takes the Dutchman to a total of 69 points. Sergio Perez finished fifth and took the point for the fastest lap. Eleven points thus, bringing him to a total of 54 points.

With his third podium in a row, Fernando Alonso remains on the track of the Red Bull drivers. The Spaniard is now on 45 points. Lewis Hamilton climbs to fourth place with 38 points after his second place in Australia. Behind him follow Carlos Sainz, Lance Stroll and George Russell.

There is also a celebration at McLaren, where Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri score the first points of this season. For Piastri, it is his first points in Formula 1. Nico Hulkenberg also scores quite a few points for Haas with seventh place. Guanyu Zhou and Yuki Tsunoda also scored their first points of the season with P9 and P10 respectively. Valtteri Bottas fell just short of the mark this weekend.
