Aston Martin is the surprise of the Formula 1 season. The British team has made a huge step forward and is now only behind Red Bull Racing. Team boss Mike Krack has announced when upgrades are coming to the AMR23.
Aston Martin did tremendous business last winter. The car was vastly improved and with Fernando Alonso they found an excellent replacement for Sebastian Vettel. The Spaniard has scored a podium in every race, finishing third three times. Last year, the team finished seventh in the championship, but now the team is second behind Red Bull.
Upgrades to AMR23
Aston Martin team boss Mike Krack revealed that several upgrades are planned in the upcoming races. "The biggest improvements will come later in the year. We'll have some new parts in Baku, Imola, Montréal, and some at Silverstone," Krack said in a press release from Aston Martin. With this, the team boss announces four upgrades in the upcoming eight races.
They are a lot of individual upgrades instead of one big package. The team is keeping this upgrade strategy because, according to the team boss, it worked well last year. "We'll bring each small increment as soon as it's ready, rather than waiting to bundle everything up into big packages. It's an approach that worked well for us last year with the AMR22."
