Leclerc draws painful conclusion: 'Can't change the car'

Charles Leclerc may call himself a two-time polesitter in the Baku Grand Prix weekend, but in the sprint race, he failed to cash in on his pole. Instead, it was Sergio Perez who ran away with the prize. For Leclerc, it confirms his suspicion that Red Bull has simply built a superior car.
Asked what he can learn from the sprint race in Azerbaijan, Leclerc replied that there is not much he could have done differently. " I mean, we can't change the car," reads the painful conclusion for Ferrari. "It confirms what we thought.. the Red Bull still has the upper hand in the race, but we must not forget how far we were behind in race pace a few races ago."
Leclerc happy with second place
"We did a step forward." Leclerc continued. "We are not where we want to be, but as I said if winning is not possible then we need to take the maximum points." The Monegasque can therefore be satisfied with second place in the sprint.
As for his chances for the race, the Ferrari driver remains realistic. "Anyway we will try to go for the win tomorrow even though the Red Bull is quicker," Leclerc said.
