Sainz found cause for poor performance in Azerbaijan

Carlos Sainz has regained some of his confidence after a lousy weekend in Azerbaijan. The Spaniard claims to know what went wrong in Baku and is now looking ahead to the race weekend in Miami.
For Sainz, things just did not want to go smoothly in Baku. The Ferrari driver was behind from the very first session and with the sprint format there was hardly any time to adjust. Sainz lacked confidence in his car and consequently did not get close to Charles Leclerc. In Miami, he says he was able to find the cause.
Sainz finds confidence back
'' I spoke with my engineers and we have drawn our conclusions and analysis. I have an idea of what could have happened in Baku. In this sport there are things that are difficult to understand, perhaps Baku is one of them. But now we are focused on Miami because in a driver's career, there will always be better and worse weekends,'' Sainz said, according to Spanish AS.
Sainz previously spoke out about the situation Ferrari is in. According to the 28-year-old driver, there is nothing to worry about yet and the gap with Red Bull Racing can be bridged. Sainz confirms this again: ''I trust the team, I know important changes are coming and you have to stay motivated and focused,'' Sainz concluded.
