Debate | Will Perez beat Verstappen again this weekend in Miami?
- GPblog.com
The King of the Street had a tough first day in Miami. After his victory in Azerbaijan, Sergio Perez expressed hopes of making a serious push for the world championship. In that case, he will have to deal with his teammate Max Verstappen, who finished the first day in Miami almost half a second faster. A harbinger of things to come?
Perez was certainly not satisfied with his performance on Friday. While the Mexican complained about his own driving style, on the other side of the garage there was actually reasonable satisfaction. Verstappen spoke of a good day, in which the right balance could be found immediately. So, listening to both drivers, Verstappen seems to be in a much better position than Perez.
Who has the upper hand?
So a little catching up awaits the Mexican on Saturday and Sunday. Miami should be Perez's win on paper, as this is a street circuit. That is precisely where the man from Guadalajara should have the upper hand, if he really wants to have a chance at the title anyway, at least is the general thinking. On traditional circuits, such as Imola below, for example, Verstappen's qualities should be more evident.
GPblog wonders whether Perez will manage to excel two weeks in a row and whether he will be able to beat Verstappen in Miami this weekend!
