Andretti remains hopeful of F1 entry in 2025: 'Hopefully answer in July'

Andretti Cadillac is still hoping for a Formula 1 entry. The US formation wants nothing more than to join the premier class of motorsport, so in the background, all preparations are in full swing. Speaking to Sky Sports, Michael Andretti gave a brief update on the state of play ahead of the Miami Grand Prix.
Andretti himself has all his affairs in good order. People have already been hired and a factory is being built. The goal is to be on the grid in 2025, but for the time being Andretti's plans are met with resistance from the Formula 1 teams, whereas the FIA would like to see additional teams enter Formula 1. The teams mainly fear that there will be less money to distribute if additional race teams appear on the grid.
Andretti has been trying to allay these concerns for months, but not very smoothly so far. However, one is not giving up. "It's our goal, we're working on it. We're in a process that we're in the middle of with the FIA. Submitting our paperwork this week and hopefully, have an answer middle of July. That's for 2025. We're already doing the work, it's happening and we're building a team as we speak. It would be awesome to see the name on the grid again, with Cadillac," Michael Andretti said.
Alpine engines
If Andretti does get to drive in Formula 1, they will do so with Alpine engines, the Americans previously confirmed to GPblog. The French engine supplier does not currently have any customer teams they supply with power units.
