'Ferrari abandons Imola upgrades due to severe weather'
- GPblog.com
Ferrari will not bring updates to the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix this weekend after all. The area is currently ravaged by floods and a lot of rain is also forecast for the weekend. Due to this extreme weather, Ferrari is postponing the upgrades reports Motorsport.com.
Ferrari reportedly planned to bring a new rear suspension to Imola. The Scuderia is lagging far behind leader Red Bull Racing especially in the race and is therefore trying to make quick improvements to the SF-23, but the severe weather seems to put a stop to that.
Difficult to evaluate updates
Rain is forecast for all three days of the race weekend in Imola. The rain makes it very difficult for teams to see exactly how good the updates are. For this reason, Ferrari would postpone the upgrades to the rear suspension. The updates would then be introduced during the Spanish Grand Prix, as Monaco, the weekend between Barcelona and Imola, is an exceptional circuit with many slow corners.
