Flooding has hit the Emilia-Romagna region, where the cancelled Imola Grand Prix was also supposed to take place. With this weekend's race cancelled, Yuki Tsunoda has decided to lend a hand to the city of Faenza, where he lives and where the AlphaTauri factory is also located.
There have been floods in the region for days. On Wednesday afternoon, it was decided that it was not wise to allow the Grand Prix to go ahead in the affected area. Meanwhile, there are also several deaths due to the floods, NIS and others reported.
Tsunoda helps locals
On Wednesday, Tsunoda posted a tweet calling on people to help those in the affected area. In doing so, the AlphaTauri driver shared a QR code, which people could scan to then easily donate money. Now the Japanese driver himself has packed his gear to clean the streets in Faenza, RadioDelta1 shared. A picture shows Nyck de Vries ' teammate standing in a muddy alley with a shovel. The picture has since been shared by many people on Twitter.
