Alpine driver Pierre Gasly will want to use the Monaco Grand Prix as a springboard to move up to the standings. One of the most prestigious races this season will be held next weekend.

For Gasly, this race feels a bit like a home race anyway, the Frenchman said in the press release looking ahead to next weekend. "Without a French Grand Prix on the calendar, this race is as close to France as we get during the year and the support from the fans in Monaco is very special."

Gasly on next weekend

Gasly, who could breathe a sigh of relief after his two penalty points expire, is currently on eight points in the standings. Due to several mistakes in previous races, the 27-year-old driver has fewer points than hoped for. The French driver explained what is expected of him next weekend.

"It's a track which requires perfection as you are on the limit for just over 60seconds, millimetres from the walls, with no room for any mistake. Monaco is all about building confidence through the three practice sessions and then having confidence in the car to push in Qualifying on Saturday."
