Verstappen: 'We always have to be perfect'
- Toby McLuskie
Max Verstappen gave a masterclass through the narrow streets of Monte Carlo. The Dutchman once again showed his primal talent, in the rain but also on dry tarmac. Should the Dutchman fail to win, there are still two contenders for the race win. Teammate Sergio Perez and his friend Fernando Alonso. Will the Spaniard get another chance at victory soon? Verstappen answers during the press conference.
"I don't know, to be honest, where the next one can be," the two-time world champion tells honestly. "It can be next week (Barcelona) because we always need to be perfect to really get everything out of it," Verstappen is honest.
The Red Bull has a fantastic race pace and is untrackable by other teams under normal conditions, the Limburger also knows. "But we cannot afford DNFs or anything like that," countered the championship leader.
Street circuit?
But the opportunity for chaos, and thus possibly a lucky break for Alonso, may lie on street circuits. "I mean, street circuits, I think overall, it's always a little bit more hectic, a bit more chaos around it," he said. So with Las Vegas and Singapore, there are still a few opportunities ahead.
